Spring Break, I tried to focus on Tracking a bit more.
160 columns by 120 rows = 19200 pixels
(wea) writes one pixel of data to offboard FPGA RAM.
Tracking should be done before reading the saving to memory. Only thing really needed is the coordinates.
More Thought on Noise Elimination.
Morphological Operations : Erosion and Dialation.
If enough time more thought should go into pin hole mapping. Which means to look for holes in enclosed areas of the skin. Holes can Identify open mouths, eyes, and nostrils/ nose shadow. This should be done after morphological processes.
This week I worked on the midterm presentation and report. I revised the previous software flowcharts to make sure that they agreed with our group’s current focus for the project.
I also helped fill out the different sections for the midterm report including the finished tasks and the tasks that still need to be completed. Our group is running behind schedule in finishing the project, but if everyone in the group participates equally and effectively, then we should be able to get the project done in time.

Soldering Components on Custom PCB
In this week, I have done soldering our custom FPGA PCB for the camera. The PCB’s components include mainly a Spartan 6, 100 Mhz oscillator, a port pin for camera and a few GPIOs. So all components are soldered, and I will be verifying the PCB in next week and make sure it is fully working.
3D Printing the Power Supply Box and Soldering the Components
In this week, I also 3D print the power supply box and solder the components. I have verified the power supply output voltages.
